Hello! I am contacting you for a fun thought of “Thinking outside the box” I am an owner of a studio called hot fitness and we do cross training in the heat and humidity. We do 4 types of Yoga. I am trying to get my numbers up in the club and thought that it would be amazing to offer an adventure such as yours. I know we are to late on the May – June, but when would your next one be? It would be awesome to get more info on this journey.

Hi Gabrielle,
How does the “Twin share rooms” (range from $2,299 to $3,499 to Deluxe Level) work?
Is that per person pricing or per couple?
Also, what is the best way to contact Pura Vida regarding accommodations? email or phone? Where can I find that information?

I found the website for the resort 🙂 … now just curious about the “twin share” pricing.
Thanks!
Kathie

Hi Kathie

Feel free to write me directly! Firstly, twin share is always quoted as a per person figure. Remember that it includes everything you eat and all drinks (non alcoholic and special orders of course 😉 ). If you go to the PV website it will have higher prices. So please remember that I have negotiated better prices for you and when you do book, you’ll be dealing with directly with the resort (cutting out the middle man).

Thanks for the message

Warm wishes
Gabrielle 🙂

Gabrielle,

I had a question in regards to when the next training will be offered? I serendipitously found your amazing program during my teacher training certification search. I unfortunately stumbled upon it past the scholarship application date. I would definitely not be able to attend with scholarship assistance. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You,
Juliet

Hi, Ive been practicing Bikrim Yoga at a Hot Yoga studio in Long Island ,New York. I was wondering what type of certificate do you receive after completion? Would it enable me to work at a Hot Yoga studio? Or perhaps open my own studio? What type of test do you take? Also what is the agenda for the day usually. Im 51 and want to make sure Im up to the task. Thanks Angela

Hello Angela 🙂

Thanks for asking your questions!

The Hot Yoga Doctor Pro Teacher Training Pro is a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga School for 200 and 500 hour programs so your teaching certification is recognised internationally. It will enable you to work at Hot Yoga studios anywhere. I have many graduates working at all types of studios (of different styles including bikram and hot). Everyone so far has reported ease in finding a place to teach.

You will certainly be ready to teach and you will be able to open your own studio.

Tests? Actually they’re assessments. You have constant mentoring and assessments (peer and teacher driven) for your ability to teach well and incorporate all your knowledge of the poses and the body. On the first full day you’ll be given a fantastic feedback tool that I guarantee you will enjoy using both at training and in all situations in life with your friends, colleagues and family after you leave the program. Sit down exams on anatomy (for example) are really irrelevant because what’s really useful is how you incorporate your knowledge of the body into your teaching. That’s what counts.

Angela, I just sent out an email about the typical working day. Here’s the link to the blog where I posted it too. http://www.hotyogadoctor.com/index.php/site/teacher-training. You’ll see it is a full schedule but I purposely create a very good proportion of rest and recovery time so that you can be ‘on the task’ when you have to be. There are plenty of days off to keep you energised.

PS There are people of all ages coming and currently you would not be the oldest. Last year we had 3 in their 60s!

Thank you for your questions

Hi Sally

Thanks so much for your enquiry! We do have a scholarship program that has closed a month ago. We can still talk about what it would take to get you to Costa Rica!

Hi Gabrielle,
I am very interested in this program, however, I will be a mother of two children under three years old by the time I am able to attend. Is it possible to reserve a nearby location to the Hot Yoga Teaching location in Costa Rica where my family can come and stay with me? On-site would be best, but I realize that this might not be possible.

Thank you for your help and time!

Jessica

Hello Jessica

Thanks so much for your question. As I am onsite for the next few days I SHOULD be able to find out a little more for you.

Would you please help me by telling me who would be coming with you. Can you tell me the exact ages of any children and also if a partner or S.O. or caregiver would be coming?

Warm wishes
Gabrielle 🙂

Jessica June 19, 2012 at 4:58 pm

Hi Gabrielle,

My son would be 2.5 years old, and my daughter would be 1 years old next year during this training. I would also want my husband, and possibly my mother and father to join us, as well (built-in babysitters are a must!:). So this would be four adults and two children under 3 years old to accommodate (myself included).

Thank you again for your help!

Hi I am thinking of taking a 200 hr training
My question is the process of interview audition and getting hired and getting paid.
Can you provide a basic class rate and time line framework for what to expect?

As a new yoga teacher with a 200 Hr training certificate,
What can I expect to get paid per class and when can I expect to be paid?
Do I intern; if so how long? And is the internship paid or free for a specific period of time, etc?
Once I have “time” in the room what can I expect my pay class rate to be?
How much time is required to get a regular class and at what rate?

Hi Elizabeth

Thank you very much for your questions. The answers are a little different depending on where you are in the world. I know that people in the US can be paid from $35 up to $100 per 90 min class. I know that people in Australia get paid $70-$100 for the same class.

Then there are many differences between styles of yoga and sizes of studios (and the cities they’re in). The busier the studios the more students then it’s more likely to be paid more. That’s a generalised rule.

I started writing this response yesterday but somehow forgot to press ‘submit’. Now that I see you have posted in the forum, I will ‘meet’ you over there as I will now find it easier to ask for clarification.

Kind wishes,
Gabrielle 🙂

Hi Gabrielle,
I am also interested in the 2013 teacher course and would love any info that you might have at this point. I will need to plan ahead as I don’t actually have four weeks of vacation available, but could probably make it work.
best wishes,
Cindy

Hi CIndy

Long time no type! Welcome back. I saw your forum post yesterday (and haven’t got around to it just yet!). We are still finalising dates etc. It looks as though it would be similar timing. You broached a lot in your forum post. So if it’s OK with you I will meet you ‘over there’.

However if it’s the dates you need first and foremost, then it’s VERY similar timing that we’re working on.

Warm wishes
Gabrielle 🙂
